I am from Birjand, a city in the east Iran, recently known as the capital of South Khorasan province. In 1993, I moved to Tehran to continue my studies at Sharif University of Technology. I got my B.Sc. and M.Sc. both from the Department of Computer Engineering in 1997 and 2000. During my masters, I was working with Dr. Mohammad Ghodsi on Parallel Algorithms.

From January 2003, I am here in Toronto. In 2004, I obtained my M.Sc. from the Department of Computer Science, University of Toronto. My academic advisor was Prof. Wayne Enright. Since January 2005, I have been a Ph.D. student working with him.
